We Provide a Solution That Truly Fits!
Every work environment is different. That’s why at Jansen Medicars, we work with a modular concept: our products are built from a wide range of standard components, tailored to the specific applications and requirements of the customer. This allows us to provide a quick and efficient solution. But sometimes, more is needed: a new design that has never been made before. For those situations, we offer custom solutions: trolleys or accessories that are designed and produced from the ground up based on the unique needs of the user.
Every custom project with us begins with an on-site visit or an extensive session via Teams. We analyze the workflows, measure the available space, and discuss the functional and ergonomic requirements with the users and the Medical Technology department. Which equipment needs to be placed on the trolley? How will these devices be connected? How will the system be used, and in which spaces must it fit? And how do we ensure that users can work with it as comfortably and efficiently as possible? These questions form the basis of the design.
Based on this input, our engineers and product developers get to work. In short design sprints, we develop a proposal in the form of a 3D drawing. This way, the customer gets a clear picture of the final product early in the process, allowing for feedback or adjustments. Only when the design is fully to the customer’s satisfaction do we start production.
This approach results in solutions that are perfectly suited to real-world applications. Whether it’s medical equipment with unconventional dimensions, specific connectors, extra-large displays, or a holder for a gas cylinder with a unique size — we design a solution that fits.
A good example of this is the new ICU transport trolley we recently developed for Nij Smellinghe Hospital. There, we replaced a trolley we had delivered in 2012, which had been intensively used for years. The new version needed to be compatible with both an emergency room stretcher and an ICU bed, each with its own connection. To address this, we developed a hooking system that is suitable for both types of beds, with a fold-out hook that can be compactly stored. There was also a need for additional oxygen capacity. A configuration with larger cylinders would have made the trolley too large to fit in the elevator. So, we chose a layout that allows for an extra cylinder without increasing the size of the trolley, ensuring it still fits in the lift. Additionally, the trolley is equipped with an intelligent valve set that automatically switches between different gas cylinders and the wall connection, depending on which source is available at the time.
At Jansen Medicars, we believe that good design starts with listening. By working closely with users and technical departments, we deliver solutions that truly work in practice. Are you curious about what custom solutions could mean for your department? We’d be happy to help.
